Dan Winstead
Dan Winstead, 80, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of March 21st, 2026 at his home surrounding by his loving family.
He was a member of Fairview Bible Baptist Church and attended West View Baptist Church until his health declined.
Dan was a proud Army Veteran. He spent 28 years working at American Enka/BASF until they closed and went to work at K-Chemical until his retirement. When his wife Sue’s health declined, he became a devoted caregiver for her until her passing.
He was preceeded in death by his loving wife Sue; parents Guy Winstead, Arlie and Gwen Williford; brothers Freddie Winstead and Mark Greene; sisters Pat Phillips and Sue Sizemore.
He is survived by his loving and caring daughters who took care of him during his sickness; Angela Hutsell and Aimee (Allen) Lamb. Grandchildren; Adam (Emma) Hutsell, Isaiah Lamb, and Molly Lamb. Sisters; Irene (Bud) Dukes, Francis Whaley. Sister-in-law; Margie Winstead. Brother-in-law; Eddie Sizemore. Dear friends; Richard Webb and Johnny Trent.
Dan was a loving Husband, Dad, Poppy, and Pawie to his family and he will be greatly missed. He took great pride in spending time with his family, especially spoiling his grandchildren Adam, Isaiah, and Molly. His favorite hobby was to feed every person that came into his house; you could not leave his home with an empty stomach. He also enjoyed going to car shows and rod runs.
The family would like to personally thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice for the care that was shown to Dan during his sickness. Also, a special thanks to Shannon and Courtney for all their love and kindness given towards Dan.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026, at Allen Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm, with Rev. Travis Webb and Rev. Randy Epps officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 26th, 2026, at Catherine Nenney Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Allen Lamb, Isaiah Lamb, Adam Hutsell, Bud Dukes, Richard Webb and Kevin Tippins.
