Emory Lester Seals

Emory Lester Seals, 93, of Morristown, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

Emory was raised in Hancock and Hawkins counties. He was the last surviving and longest living of the 12 children of Kelly Harrison Seals and Ola Greene Seals, including Hugh (Dorothy) Seals, Ruth (Howard) Perry, Milburn (Bea) Seals, J.C. (Anna Ray) Seal, Doss (Annette) Seals and Gladys (Rudy) Self.

He served in the US Army (PFC), primarily as an electrician in a military hospital in France, but was more happy to serve God, having been saved at an early age. He enthusiastically supported the ministries of New Hope Gospel Church that spread the gospel throughout the world. He was a member and deacon for most of the years since the church’s founding.

Emory had built or helped to build 75 homes and for many years had continued utilizing his skills; working in maintenance for a series of banking institutions and at the church. He loved working outside, gardening and mowing.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Naomi Hurd Seals and his daughter, Priscilla Seals.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 PM, on Monday, March 23, 2026, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7 PM. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in Hamblen Memory Gardens.

Arrangements by Allen Funeral Home.
