Trojans, Lady Trojans win Bill Grimer Invitational meet at Greeneville

Morristown West swept the Bill Grimer Invitational at Greeneville Middle School on Friday, with both boys and girls teams winning the meet.

On the girls side, the Lady Trojans saw first-place finishes in six of 18 events.

Lexi Massengill grabbed first in the 100-meter with a 13.90-second time. Kyra Couch won the 3200-meter with a time of 12:41.27, and Abbigail Knight took third in the event at 13:06.48. To round out the individual events, Bella Webb won the triple jump at 31 feet, 10 inches.

West also took first in three of four relays, winning the 4×100 (53.44), 4×200 (1:55.53) and 4×400 (4:44.69).

The Lady Trojans also saw second place finishers in Payton Barnes (800, 2:42.11), and Rylee Hurst in the 100-meter hurdles (18.98) and 300-meter hurdles (52.66).

On the boys’ side, West finished first in nine of 18 events, including a sweep in the relays.

The 4×100 team had a time of 44.70, 1:38.20 in the 4×200, 3:50.27 in the 4×400 and 9:38.24 in the 4×800.

Matthew Victory placed first in the 100-meter dash (11.37 and long jump (22 feet, 11.75 inches). Jonny Rivera won the 800-meter at 2:11.57, and William Roberts took first in the 3200 (10:45.15). Roberts also placed second in the 1600 (4:57.02) and the 400 (55.25).

To round out individual firsts, Malachi Monroe won the shotput at 43 feet, two inches.

The Trojans saw second place finishers in the 100 (Russell Cole, 11.37, the 200 (Riley McClellan, 23.25), the 300 hurdles (Ladarion Rabion, 44.70), and the triple jump (Rabion, 40 feet, 11 inches).
