WSCC to offer non-credit courses in April

• Introduction to Robotics Operation and Programming will be offered April 7-Aug. 4, meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:45 a.m.-9:10 a.m. at the Niswonger Campus in Greeneville. This class provides hands-on training with WSCC’s six-axis robots and provides a basic understanding of robot operations and programming. Students will learn core skills for operating robots. The class also introduces preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. Training is aligned to the FANUC Certified Robot Operator National Certification. Upon successful completion, each student is awarded a FANUC certificate in robot operation and programming. Cost is $695. Funding may be available for local industries.
• Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) will be held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Thursday, April 9 on the Zoom videoconferencing platform. Students will gain hands-on experience utilizing Esri software. Sessions will cover software basics, and managing and visualizing spatial data. This class uses the Zoom videoconferencing platform. Cost is $199.
• OSHA 30 Hour Safety Training – General Industry will be held the week of April 13-16 at the Walters State Niswonger Campus. Offered in conjunction with TOSHA, the training focuses on workplace hazards and workers’ rights. Knowledge gained in this training can reduce downtime and prevent injuries. This class is recommended for front-line supervisors, safety committee members, and safety professionals. Cost is $449. Funding may be available for local industries.
• OSHA #503 Update for General Industry Outreach Trainers will be held the week of April 14-16 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on the Walters State Morristown Campus. This class is for those who have completed the #501 Trainer Course and who are authorized trainers in the OSHA Outreach Training Program. This course provides an update on general industry standards, policies and regulations. Upon course completion, students will be able to continue to teach the 10- and 30-hour general industry outreach classes. Cost is $800.
• Microsoft Excel Level 3 will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, April 14 on the Walters State Morristown Campus. The class covers PivotTables, Pivot Charts, troubleshooting formulas, advanced formatting and advanced formulas. Students will also learn how to analyze data and work with macros. Cost is $150.
