Evelyn Puckett Hodge Petrey

Evelyn Puckett Hodge Petrey, age 80 of Rutledge, TN, passed away peacefully at her home on March 5, 2026.

She was a devoted mother, nana, and Mamaw. She was a faithful servant of the Lord, previously a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and a current member Central Point Baptist Church. Evelyn loved birds and was an avid bird watcher. She enjoyed reading, and cooking wonderful meals for her family, for as long as she was able. She was a retired dietary aide at Rutledge High School and previously worked at Smoky Mountain Ball Park and many other companies as a housekeeper.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. G.C. and Deffa Puckett; husbands, Fred Hodge and Herbert Petrey; brothers, Alvin, Wayne, Jim, Charlie, Chuck, and Gene Puckett; sister Frances (Leon) Kidwell; and grandchild, Adam Williams.

She is survived by her daughters, Pam (Hugh) Carneal and Krystal (Tim) Robinson; son Randy (Sue) Hodge; special sisters in-love, Bonnie Morgan and Betty Bivens; sister in-laws, Dorothy (Dot) and Leverne Puckett, grandchildren, Gretchen (Jeff) Graham, Gala Whitt, Brittany (Jordan) Hoover, Kaitlin (Jake) Campbell, Logan (Taylor) Burns and Stephen (Maura) Williams; great-grandchildren, Jada (Nick) Emory, Nyla Graham, Haven and Gavin Wolfe, Briar and Brynlee Hoover, Savannah and Corbin Campbell, Khalessee Burns; great-great-grandchild, Rhylee Emory; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Smoky Mountain Hospice for the care they provided to their loved one. They would also like to thank Smith-Regan Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home. Service will follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Adam Ramsey and Rev. Mark Kitts officiating. Family and Friends will gather on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 2:00pm at Central Point Baptist Church Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Lee Brickey officiating.

Pallbearers: Jordan Hoover, Jake Campbell, Neal Warwick, Bernie Brown, Stephen Williams, and Keaton Scearce.
