A group of Carson-Newman University students and faculty are confirmed to be in Israel in the midst of the bombing of Iran by the United States and Israel, and the military response from Iran that has included missile and drone attacks across the Middle East.
Some of that response include missles targeted at Israel in places like Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
“We have a team of students and faculty in Israel,” Sr. Vice President for University Relations Kevin Triplett said. “They were on a dig as part of the Carson-Newman archeology program.
“Our president has spoken with members of the group multiple times over the last couple of days as well as parents of the students back here in the United States. They are now in Jerusalem. They are safe and in good spirits and plans are being made to get them home.”
