Two businesses under the same roof will offer more bang for your buck.
The Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce held a joint ribbon cutting for Pretty Blue Company and Morristown TechSperts, located at 2351 East Morris Boulevard across from College Square Mall.
The businesses are owned by Brian and Christina Evans, a husband-and-wife team.
Pretty Blue Company specializes in custom business and personal apparel. There are no minimum number of shirts that are required to be ordered, making it convenient and economical for customers.
“This business is so important to me because my dad always encouraged me and helped lay the foundation for what you see here,” Christina said.
Christina started her business after being laid off as a local factory’s marketing coordinator during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It was just when the world shut down,” she said. “I was trying to supplement income because I got laid off. I went into apparel hoping it would work out. I saw a true need in the community for apparel done differently.”
“I was actually super busy from the very beginning.”
Custom wear is Christina’s specialty.
“It’s what I enjoy what to do the most,” she said. “I like taking someone’s idea and bringing it to life. If you can put a print on it, we can use it.
“Starting something from the ground up leads to faith in your vision, faith in your work and faith in your community,” she said. “Morristown has done exactly that. Many of you have shared our posts, placed orders, told a friend or simply encouraged me.”
Pretty Blue can be reached at 423-254-0099.
Brian Evans, Christina’s husband, of Morristown TechSperts, spoke about his business, which opened in November.
“We’re basically a cellular phone service,” he said. “We can buy, sell, trade or repair cell phones, tablets and gaming consoles and PCs, pretty much anything electronic. We buy and sell, as well.”
Morristown TechSperts offers other services, such as pre-paid cell plans, which are really popular today. Rates include two lines for $50 or four lines for $100. The business also offers cell phone insurance, as well as financing options with as little as $10 down. He said that the insurance is the best part.
“Everybody’s phone carrier offers insurance and honestly, it’s such a ‘rip-off’ to pay a good amount of money every month, but when you finally need it, they bust you over the head with a $200-$250 deductible. Ours is $29, with a monthly payment of only $8 to $11 a month. It’s phenomenal. You get everything you need to have done here, even if you’re not in this area, they’ll take care of you so you can go anywhere you need to go to get your phone fixed. The most you would ever pay is $99.
“We put our name on it and we stand behind it,” he said. “We take care of everything. There is no worse day than to lose or break your device and you feel like the world is ending. We are here to help you relax and let you know that everything is going to be okay.”
Even when one’s phone is “destroyed,” TechSperts tries to get the phone going enough to be able to transfer data from the old phone to the new one.
Brian said that TechSperts is a family affair with his three children working with him.
Operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, call 423-254-0366 (Brian) or 423-254-0099 (Christina).
