Athletic trainer opportunities open at East
T
We’ve made an amazing start to the week after our snow break, and the weather is finally warming up! The groundhog said 6 more weeks of winter, but so far we’re seeing differently!
Students! If you’re interested in becoming a Student Athletic Trainer, pick up an application from Mr. Utt in room 139! Deadline for dropoff is 2/20
If you’re interested in math tutoring, join Mr. Drisgula every Thursday afternoon in room 307.
Registration is this month! Juniors register on 2/16, Sophomores register on 2/23, and Freshmen register 3/2.
For incoming Freshman, we have several upcoming events to help support and prepare students for their first year of high school at East High. Incoming students will take part in CTE tours of both high schools. East High counselors will also visit the middle schools to guide students through the registration process. Students and Parents are invited to Raising ‘Canes night, which will provide helpful information to support a successful transition into freshman year. 3/9 are the Counselor Visits, and 3/16 Raising ‘Canes night.
Students who need credit recovery, contact Mrs. Brummit or your school counselor to start getting the documents and to submit hours. Check your Google Classroom for any upcoming updates and contact your counselor if you are unsure if you are in need of credit recovery.
This week we had our spirit week leading up to our home East vs. West Basketball game on 2/13.
Students had a 20 day challenge for the month of February! From 1/20-2/13 students we’re supposed to come to school every day with ZERO Unexcused absences to get a Free sweet treat on Friday, 2/13! Students who qualify will get their treat during the school day.
Seniors! Make sure to have your Josten’s requirements ordered. All Seniors need a cap, gown, and graduation cover in order to walk the stage. East High has asked students to follow the dress code during Graduation, or you may put your diploma in jeopardy.
Buy a Yearbook! Yearbooks are on sale right now and you can go buy one! See Ms. Giles for more information on buying a yearbook.
Students have participated greatly in this week’s Spirit Week, and the school spirit was thrilling! February is almost at an end and soon we’ll have our Spring Break and then summer vacation and graduation. Happy Valentine’s day, Students, and remember it’s a Great Day to be a Hurricane!
