East’s Sullivan records 1000th assist, West sweeps Sevier

The city of Morristown continued its dominance in the sport of volleyball on Thursday.
West swept Sevier (25-18, 25-23, 25-15), improving to 5-1 in district play. East got the sweep over Cocke County (25-21, 25-13, 25-18), improving to 6-1.
The teams currently sit at number one and number two in the District 2-AAA rankings.
East 3, Cocke County 0
Harmony Sullivan achieved her 1000th career assist for the Lady ‘Canes, recording 33 in the game to go with 12 digs and an ace. Regan Forester pitched in 16 kills, two aces, a block and seven digs.
Lilabeth Jordan put up an ace and 17 digs, Riley Forester turned in 12 kills and Hailey Hall contributed seven digs, three kills and two aces.
The team tallied nine aces, 41 kills and 71 digs in total.
East travels to West Ridge next Monday in a non-district contest.
West 3, Sevier County 0
On the West side, Bella Forte had 13 kills and a solo block, Aubrie Messer turned in 11 kills and a solo block, Emma Miller went for two aces and 19 assists, Haley Cabe tallied two aces, seven kills and 12 digs and Kenzie Collins contributed 11 digs.
West heads to Cocke County next Tuesday in another district matchup.
