James Leland Soule

James Leland Soule, 65, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2023 while exploring the Great Barrier Reef in Australia with his loving wife by his side.

Born May 8, 1958, to William and Noreen Soule, Jim lived his young life in Dedham, MA. He was a talented athlete at Dedham high School and continued his football career at Framingham State University. After graduation, Jim relocated to South Florida and worked as an air traffic controller before pursuing his law degree at Nova Southeastern University. He relocated to Morristown, TN and built numerous small businesses in the area including East Tennessee Gun Club, Family Fun Zone and the Vintage Restoration Station. He enjoyed spending his free time on Cherokee Lake with family and volunteering at MATS and on the board of Girls, Inc. in the local community.

Jim is survived by his wife, Eliana Leal, and his six children: Caitlin, Christopher, Emily, Allison, Jillian and James. He is also survived by his brother, Arthur Soule. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Williamd and Noreen Soule, and his brother, William Soule.

Jim had a love for adventure and travel. He had an infectious smile and loved to make everyone laugh with his sarcastic sense of humor. Jim was generous and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends and had a knack for spotting a great deal. While Jim left us far too soon, his impact on his family, friends, and community will be felt for years to come.

In typical Jim fashion, there will be a Celebration of Life held on Sunday, September 17, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Morristown. Receiving of friends and family is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a Roast and Toast of Jim from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., sharing favorite memories of someone who meant so much to so many. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to MATS.
