Rev. Jay Brady, age 76, went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2023.

He was called to preach in 1972. He was the pastor of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church of Mohawk for 27 years. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and camping. He was a rock, steadfast for the Lord, and a true man of God.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Mae Bowlin; father, Clifford Brady; brother, Johnny Brady; and granddaughter, Taylor Jefferson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Wanda Brady; his children, Lesia (Chris) Davis, Missy (Ricky) Lewis, David (Margret) Brady, Vicky (Michael) Crigger; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson on the way; and with a multitude of family and friends that loved him.

He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for the care and kindness provided and a special thanks to Dr Nancy Witherspoon and Nurse Christin.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 5 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Sexton and Rev. Ralph Morgan officiating.

Family and friends will meet in Hamblen Memory Gardens on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 10:45 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
