Godwin, James Franklin “Frank”
Godwin, James Franklin “Frank” – Age 90, of Rutledge, TN, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville surrounded by his loving family.
He worked on the family farm where he was born and lived his entire life. He was a lifelong member of Rutledge United Methodist Church.
He was a director of Citizens Bank and Trust Company for 58 years, serving for multiple years as Chairman.
He was also a member of Rising Star Lodge #44, a 32nd Degree Mason, a 68-year Master Mason, and a 50-year member of Knoxville Scottish Rite.
Preceded in death by parents, Roy Hill and Gladys French Godwin, loving wife of 50 years, Peggy Ann Yates Godwin, sister Betty Rome, brother -in-law and farming partner of 55 years, Bill Mims and special nephew Jeffrey Mims.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Rose (Fred) Montgomery, Marie (Billy), Daniel and Renee Godwin. Grandsons, Hunter (Kirby) Daniel, Matthew (Alli) Montgomery, 1LT Caleb Daniel and Graham (Erin) Montgomery; Great-Granddaughter, Palmer Daniel. Sister, Mary Mims, Brother, Don (Betty) Godwin, special Nephew Charles Mims and special Nephew by love Scott Wynn. Brother-in-Law, Gordon Rome.
He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews, as well as his furry friends, Kitty and Clover.

Masonic service, followed by funeral, will be held at 7:00 pm Sunday, August 27, 2023 in the chapel of Smith-Reagan Funeral Home in Rutledge with Rev. Brian Blair officiating.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm prior to services at the funeral home.
Family and Friends will gather at the funeral home at 10:15 am, Monday, August 28, 2023 to proceed to Grainger Memorial Gardens for a 11:00 am graveside service officiated by Betty Shirley.
Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Charles Mims, Chase Mims, Scott Wynn and Gonzalo Rubio. Honorary pallbearers will be the directors of Citizens Bank and Trust Co.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rutledge United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 7961 Rutledge Pike, Rutledge, TN 37861.
