Morristown’s Joyce Jolley joined an illustrious list Thursday night as she was officially inducted into the Tennessee Boys & Girls Club Hall of Fame at the Crowne Plaza Downtown in Knoxville.

Jolley, a long time board member, is the 10th contributor to the Boys & Girls Club of Morristown to be selected for the distinguished honor.

John Seals, the executive director of the Morristown Club, said he was honored to be part of the ceremony.

“I got the honor and priviledge to help induct her into the Hall of Fame,” Seals said. “it was a great night, a great opportunity to recognize a lot of people.

“I’m really proud of what Ms. Jolley has done, not only for our club but also for our community and the individuals in our community.”

Jolley joined (the late) James “Eddie” Beckner, former Executive Director Bill Seals, Scott Reams, Delores “Dee” Hendershot, Jackie Leach, Carl Storms, Brenda Seals, David Wild and Dennis H. Inman as the Morristown club representatives elected into the Hall of Fame.

Jolley has served on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls of Morristown for over 36 years, not only has she been a leading fundraiser and donor for the local organization but she has served on several major committees for many years including: the Resource Development committee, the Program Committee and the Super Auction Committee (the club’s largest annual fundraising event).

Jolley’s interest in and support of the Club extends beyond her financial generosity, outstanding leadership and unbelievable involvement at club fundraisers and special events. Jolley has had a tremendous impact on the lives of so many members over the years by providing a hand up and not a hand out.

Some of those ways include: individually mentoring so many club members and their families, providing discovery trips for members, assisting families/members with Christmas gifts, helped establish several scholarship funds at the club including the Chet Meyers Fund for Kids and even helped teach swim lessons.

Perhaps one of her most notable contributions (along with her late husband Gene) has been serving as a Charter Board Trustee for the Boys and Girls Club Foundation of Morristown, which is a separate 501C(3) organization whose sole purpose is to raise resources to support the Boys and Girls Club of Morristown.

She has served on the Foundation Board of Trustees for over 15 years helping raise over $3,000,000.
