Lakeway CASA to hold fundraiser

F

Lakeway CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is hosting a volunteer mixer on Tuesday, September 12th from 6-7:30 p.m. at 1907 Brewing Company.

All community members interested in learning more about the local nonprofit and its impact on the children it serves are invited to attend.

Join veteran CASA volunteers and staff in a relaxing, no pressure atmosphere while learning about the role of a child advocate.

A short presentation and Q&A opportunity will be held to offer information about this unique organization serving our community’s most vulnerable children.

Individuals interested in helping Lakeway CASA in other ways are also encouraged to attend.

Appetizers will be provided, and beverages will be available to purchase.

Lakeway CASA is currently advocating for 150 children. These children are experiencing the most difficult times of their young lives due to abuse and neglect.

CASA Volunteers take the time to get to know the child and are the one constant for them in the midst of the shuffle, uncertainty, and chaos. CASA Volunteers ensure children do not fall through the cracks of an overburdened system.

Volunteering with CASA requires great commitment and time, but the rewards are life-changing for children and advocates. CASA Volunteers build trusting relationships with children offering consistency during an uncertain time for a child.

Becoming a CASA volunteer is an opportunity to have a tangible impact on a child’s life while giving back to the community. CASA volunteers gather information about the child, help identify needs and possible services, and monitor court orders, and case plans to help the child find a safe, loving home.

The next new CASA Volunteer class will begin in the Fall of 2023.

Registration for the event is optional. To learn more about the volunteer mixer and Lakeway CASA, please call 423-307-5762 or email lakewaycasainformation@gmail.com
