Joyce Jolley has been announced as the newest inductee from Morristown into the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tennessee Hall of Fame.

Jolley will join the late James “Eddie” Beckner, former Executive Director Bill Seals, Scott Reams, Delores “Dee” Hendershot, Jackie Leach, Carl Storms, Brenda Seals, David Wild and Dennis H. Inman as the Morristown club inductees in this prestigious Hall of Fame on Thursday, August 24 at a special banquet and reception at the Crowne Plaza Downtown in Knoxville.

This marks the 10th year in the Hall of Fame’s 13 classes that someone from the local organization has been selected for this most distinguished honor.

“We are so excited for Joyce to receive this well deserved honor,” said Executive Director John Seals. “Over the last 36 years Joyce has always gone above and beyond the call to support our organization and the deserving children we serve.”

Jolley has served on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls of Morristown for over 36 years.

Her local contributions towards the movement are extraordinary and worthy of statewide recognition.

Not only has she been a leading fundraiser and donor for the local organization but she has served on several major committees for many years including: the Resource Development committee, the Program Committee and the Super Auction Committee, the club’s largest annual fundraising event.

Jolley’s interest in and support of the club extends beyond her financial generosity, outstanding leadership and unbelievable involvement at club fundraisers and special events.

Jolley has had a tremendous impact on the lives of so many members over the years by providing a hand up and not a hand out.

Some of those ways include: individually mentoring so many club members and their families, providing discovery trips for members, assisting families/members with Christmas gifts, helped establish several scholarship funds at the club including the Chet Meyers Fund for Kids and even helped teach swim lessons.

Perhaps one of her most notable contributions – along with her late husband Gene – has been serving as a Charter Board Trustee for the Boys & Girls Club Foundation of Morristown, which is a separate 501C(3) organization whose sole purpose is to raise resources to support the Boys & Girls Club of Morristown.

She has served on the Foundation Board of Trustees for over 15 years helping raise over $3,000,000.

“We have such a special group of Board members and supporters who have true servant hearts and Joyce is, without a doubt, one of our finest,” Seals said.

Jolley has also served to the larger local community in a variety of ways including: serving on the Walters State Community College Board of Trustees (25 years), served on the Morristown Housing Authority Board (15+ years), served as Children’s Sunday School Teacher at First Methodist for many years, established several scholarships at both Walters State Community College and her church and along with her family gifted Jolley Park, an all-inclusive playground park that caters to children and adults with disabilities to the city of Morristown.

Jolley and her late husband Gene were married for 59 years and owners of Lakeway Container.

They have three children – Randall (Lisa) Jolley, D.J (Leigh) Jolley and Kellie (Zachary) Kitts.

They have seven grandchildren – Andrew, Taylor, Stephanie, Thomas, Keleigh, Simon and Cameron and five great grandchildren – Lyla Grace, Eliora, Brayden, Keziah and Zephaniah.
