Nadine Peters
Nadine Peters, 85, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, August 13th, 2023 after a brief illness.
She loved the Lord and was truly called of God to minister to the homeless and be a friend to many and will be forever missed. Her calling for the past twenty years was the Oasis, a faith based Christian coffee house ministry, located on 115 Henry Street, in downtown Morristown. Nadine was a member of United Christian Outreach Church, and together they founded the Oasis in October of 2003. Coffee, fellowship, prayer, personal ministering, and Bible study were freely available to all, and utilized a variety of Ministers, singers, and musicians. Sister Nadine was the heart of the Oasis, and sadly, with her passing it will now be closed. Nadine was preceded in death by her father Chester Porter Calfee, mother Gypsy Calfee nee Gouge, brother Glenn Calfee, sister Jessie Fedor, brother Gayle Calfee, sister Faye Harrell, sister Pearl Hower, sister Unalee Smith, son Tim Peters, son Craig Peters, and grand daughter Rebecca Peters. She leaves behind her brother Chester Porter “Pete” Calfee Jr., son Michael Wayne Peters, Daughter in law Louise Peters, grandchildren Tanya Livesay (Anthony), Tammy Jo Cain (Dustin), Chelsey Cook (Aaron), Summer Spradlin (Curtis), Justin Peters, Jessica Peters, and many beloved great grandchildren and a multitude of nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 7PM, Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Mayes Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 5PM to 7PM, prior to the service. Burial will take place at 12 Noon, Friday, August 18, 2023 at White Pine Cemetery. A procession will leave Mayes Mortuary shortly after 11AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, care of Ms. Vickie Shupe.
