Tom “Tommy” Jenkins, age 89, of Morristown, TN, moved to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, August 8th, 2023.

He passed at University of Tennessee Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. Tom was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ who loved his Savior, his family, and his friends.

He never allowed age or illness to slow him down! Tom enjoyed spending time with family and serving the community through First Baptist Church of Morristown and God’s Warehouse.

In recent years, he had also served alongside his wife serving missionaries for a time in Nairobi, Kenya. Tom was a building contractor and owner of Jenkins Homes for many years.

He was a caring, kind, and helpful person to all who knew him. His calm presence was loved by many. He was known for his insight and wisdom, and also his witty sense of humor.

He is preceded in death by his son Randy, parents Ben and Hazel, and brothers Stanley and Ed.

Tom is survived by his wife of 23 years Cindy, daughter Connie, daughter in law Marcia, stepsons Brian Janish and Matthew Janish (Hilary), grandsons Nathan Jenkins (Sarah) and Sullivan Janish, granddaughters Maranda Allison (Matthew), Ella Janish, and Saylor Janish, great-grandchildren Olivia Jenkins, Abigail Denton, Annabelle Denton, Elijah Wolfe, and Hank Allison, brother Buddy (Paulette), sister Brenda Wilson (David), many nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

The family will receive friends at 5:00pm, Friday, August 18, 2023, at First Baptist Church, Morristown, TN.

There will be a celebration of life service following the receiving of friends.
