Mobile food pantry available for veterans

Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 18-12 along Second Harvest is on a mission to distribute food to military veterans.
This month’s event will be Aug. 23, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at New Market Baptist Church 921 Churchview St. It is at the only traffic light in New Market on 11E at the intersection of Mill Springs Rd.
Veterans and active duty personnel are encouraged to stop by during this event to receive a boxed distribution of shelf stable and fresh food as a “Thank You” for their service. There is no residency or income requirement needed for this event.
You do need to bring some form of military ID, VA card, DD214, etc.
If you know of a disabled Veteran in need that is unable to make it to the event you can bring their ID on their behalf. Widows, widowers and family of service members are welcome as well.

“We have been working with Second Harvest providing these quarterly mobile pantries to Veterans and their families in our East Tennessee communities for over four years,” organizers said. “We are so proud and humbled to serve and have provided these boxes to more than 2000 Veterans and their families.”
CVMA 18-12 is a 501(c) 3 organization based in the Morristown area. “We are an Association of Combat Veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces that ride motorcycles as a hobby and support Veteran Charity Organizations primarily serving the East Tennessee area.” said members of the organization.
