Back To School – Multiple Back to School events planned

Many local organizations and churches have scheduled back to school events to help students prepare for the New Year.

College Square Mall will host its annual Back 2 School Bash on Saturday July 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Quality Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Electrical will be giving away free backpacks while supplies last.

Alpha Baptist Church will host its Back to School Bash on July 26 beginning at 6 p.m.

The church located at 245 St John’s Road in Morristown will have inflatables, water slides and other activities for children of all ages.

Cash 1 in Tazewell will be giving out free school supplies Thursday July 27th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will also be free hot dogs and Snowcone Eddie will be on site selling his assortment of shaved ice.

Appalachian Ministries will host its annual Back to School Bash on Thursday July 27, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its 511 Municipal Drive location.

The event is open to all children in Jefferson, Cocke and Grainger counties. Families must bring a photo ID and piece of mail with current address to receive supplies.

The church will be handing out backpacks full of school supplies and other items and local agencies will also be set up handing out information and more items.

Morristown Parks and Recreation and the Morristown Downtown plan to partner together to host a Back to school Bash on July 28 at the Farmers Market and The Green starting at 6 p.m.

The bash will feature giant inflatables and games will be set up around The Green. P5 Sweets, Snowie of Lakeway and Floyd’s Snack Shack will be selling concessions. Morristown Task Force on Diversity is sponsoring the evening’s Starlite Cinema featuring “Space Jam: A New Legacy” which will begin at dusk.

New Beginnings Ministries on 7732 E. Andrew Johnson Hwy, Whitesburg will be hosting a backpack and school supplies giveaway July 29th.

The event lasts from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; 100 backpacks and school supplies will be given away on a first come basis.

On Saturday July 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tazwell Municipal City Park will host its Back to School Bash.

There will be vendors, live music, face painting, fire trucks, police cars, a LifeStar helicopter, mobile museums, door prizes and much more.

Ronny’s BBQ and Grill and Rachel’s Sweet Treats will be set up to sell their delicious good.
