Patricia Jane Howard Lynes-Tway
The Rev. Patricia Jane Howard Lynes-Tway, age 79, of Knoxville, TN formerly of Southeast Florida, departed her earthly life Thursday, June 15, 2023 at her home after a long illness.
She was a Miami Palmetto High School graduate, studied Psychology and Clinical Social Work at Florida International University and also Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado. She was a Former Assistant to the Bishop at The Episcopal Church in Southeast Florida.
Former Executive Director at M.A.T.S (Ministerial Association Temporary Shelter). Former Medical Social Worker at Superior Home Health Care.
She was a former Gyro-Psych Case Manager at Morristown Hamblen Hospital. She took her life profession vows in 1982 as a Franciscan.
She was ordained as a Deacon at St. Faith’s Episcopal Church, Miami in 1984. She was a True Servant of God. She loved all creations great and small, loved to paint, read, and learn everything she could, taking Art and Spanish classes up until a year ago.
She loved spending time with her granddaughter, and playing with her great-granddaughter. She was loved and adored by All her Youth Ministry Family in South Florida.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Helen Bickley Howard Pabst; father, Oscar Posey Howard; step-father, Reiny V Pabst; maternal grandparents, John B Bickley and Adline B Lynes Bickley-Tway; paternal grandparents, Ernest P Howard and Lidie A Garrett.
She is survived by her daughters, Heidi Kristine Dorothy Jane Schumacher-Sexton (Bobby), Cynthia Hope Melissa Bullion (Stephen); sons, Sean Michael Howard Schumacher (Jennifer), Kevin Schumacher and Paul Schumacher; grandchildren, Celeste Emily Jane Fay Sexton (Heidi and Bobby), John Ryan Schumacher, and Tucker Wyatt Schumacher (Sean and Jennifer); great-grandchild, Everleigh Jane Faye Rose Sexton (Celeste Sexton); brothers, John Robert Howard (Stephanie) and Roger Ernest Howard (Katie).
Special acknowledgements Toy Pabst (favorite aunt), Beverly Wilcox (best friend); dear friends Lloyd Bethel and Maria Mena. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 22, 2023 at St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral with The Rev. Canon Christopher J. Hackett officiating.
Pallbearers will be Ed York, Adam Baker, Logan Wilder, Billy Sexton, Logan Sexton, and Brock Sexton. Her Inurnment will be held at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in York, Nebraska. Well Done Good Servant.
