Girls Inc. of Hamblen County is excited to invite the community out to compete in the 2nd Annual Motown Throwdown Disc Golf Tournament that will help the nonprofit continue to inspire girls to be strong, smart and bold.

The tournament will take place at Frank Lorino Park on Saturday, August 5th.

The 36-hole tournament will tee off at 9am and the second round will begin after the lunch hour.

This is a C-tier PDGA sanctioned tournament with a 50% cash purse for the winners. Player packs include a tournament t-shirt, water bottles and more fun items. Registration is $65, and PDGA members get a $10 discount.

Whether you’re an avid PDGA player, an aspiring pro, or someone who loves to play this sport, register for this fun tournament and make more opportunities available for local girls.

Proceeds will go directly towards programming that gives girls opportunities to explore career options, builds confidence and prepare for success in adulthood.

Registration is open now. Register online at girlsinchamblencounty.org to compete for a great cause.

While each player will have an individual score, the organization invites teams of four to sign-up. Businesses who register teams will become sponsors of the event and will be placed on tee pads and the Girls Inc. social media and website through the event.

Girls Inc. has been empowering girls ages 6-18 with educational and recreational programs in the Morristown area for over 50 years.

This year’s tournament will support programs like the new Makerspace where girls learn to use tech-led machines such as Cricuts and 3D printers to problem-solve and create.
