Delmont “Seven” Gibson
Delmont “Seven” Gibson, age 77, of Sneedville, passed away peacefully on June 12th with family at the bedside rejoicing on the beauty of heaven.
He grew up in Sneedville with his 11 brothers and sisters. Seven received his bachelors in pastoral ministry from Clear Creek Bible College in Pineville, KY. Pastor Seven spent many years leading people to salvation at Elm Springs Baptist Church in Sneedville. He spent many years traveling up north teaching the words of the Bible. Assuredly, the angels are rejoicing at his arrival in heaven.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Sandy; Siblings, Jean Collins and Mutt, Taylor Gibson and Alice, Eulas, Willis and Bennie Mae, Carol Gibson, and Talmadge and Barb Gibson; and brother-in-law, Dean Hurley.
Seven was survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathy Bunch Gibson; his son, Toby Gibson and Stephanie; and grandsons, Ryan Marion and Van Gibson. Sisters, Diane Sue Johnson and husband Roger, Bessie Swiney and husband Pete, and Maudie Hurley; Brother, Joe Gibson and Laura; and tons of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special appreciation to the staff at Hancock County Nursing Home for their phenomenal care to Seven and the support they provided to the family.
The Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 15th, 2023 at Elm Springs Baptist Church from 5 till 8PM.
Family and friends will meet on Friday, June 16th, 2023 for an 11AM funeral service at Elm Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Kester Bunch, Rev. Terry Bunch, and Rev. Charles Roberts officiating.
The burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. McNeil Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Gibson Family.
