New Lakeway Transit Center Plan in the Works

F

In collaboration with ETHRA and Lakeway Transit, LAMTPO is seeking to develop a multimodal transportation center in the metropolitan area. The goal of this project is to assess the needs of Lakeway’s transit system and find a suitable location for the transit center, benefiting the Lakeway fixed route and demand response services for Hamblen and Jefferson Counties.

Priority will be given towards developing a space large enough to accommodate an ADA-accessible facility equipped with a light-maintenance area, passenger amenities, parking, administration offices, training and break rooms, customer service, and dispatch.

The public is being asked to engage in sharing their vision for the transit center by providing their feedback through a brief survey entitled Lakeway Transit Center. This is just one of many steps to ensure the viability of bringing a new transit center to Morristown, and the planning team wants to ensure all voices are heard in communicating their needs, concerns, and opinions.

The survey will be available in both English and Spanish, and the public can expect to either complete it online via mobile or computer devices or via paper copy. The survey’s website address is https://live.metroquestsurvey.com/?u=au4o4j#!/?p=web&pm=dynamic&s=1&popup=none.

For those in need of a paper copy, please contact Richard DesGroseilliers at richd@mymorristown.com or (423) 581-6277.

Plans for a public workshop are in the works but can be expected to be held in early September.

Staff and consultants will be available on-site for questions regarding the project. For further information or feedback, please contact Richard DesGroseilliers at richd@mymorristown.com or (423) 581-6277.
