Major S. Carpenter, age 80, of Morristown, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System.

He was of the Baptist faith and a retiree of Jeffrey Chain after many years of service.

Preceding him in death were his wife: Betty Carpenter; parents: Will and Mertie Carpenter; and siblings: Herbert, Hubert, Odell, Ralph, Kyle, Hazel, Bonnie, Sarah, Edna, and Carson.

Major leaves behind his daughter and son-in-law: Connie and Randy Morgan of Rutledge and grandson: Matthew Morgan. Many special nieces, nephews, friends and his walking friends from the mall.

A special thanks to all of his doctors and staff at MHHS and Amedysis Home Healthcare.

Visitation will be Monday, June 5, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Funeral services with Rev. Randy Morgan officiating will follow at 2:00 PM. Interment to immediately follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
