Celebrating Life: Life Care Center honored for 50th anniversary

The Life Care Center of Morristown on Economy road celebrated its 50th birthday on Friday.
Life Care Center is a rehab facility that offers numerous rehabilitative options for families looking for care for their loved ones. Some care options that they offer include in-house nursing for extended medical care and short-term rehab for surgery recovery.
Hamblen County Mayor Bill Brittain attended the celebration and praised Life Care Center for its 50 years of excellent service.
“50 years is a long time to be in business and life care center has been here because of the quality service that they provide” Brittain said. He then offered a joint proclamation from himself and Mayor Gary Chesney and presented the proclamation to Executive Director Victoria Bowen.
Brittain recited a portion of the proclamation for the crowd.
“Therefore we proclaim that we, Gary Chesney Mayor of Morristown and Bill Brittain Mayor of Hamblen County, do hereby celebrate the 50th anniversary of Life Care Center in Morristown, Hamblen County and recognize the contributions that the company and its employees have made in our community, we wish them many more years of success and service to our citizens.”
Bowen then presented appreciation and acknowledgment awards to long standing employees of the company.
The categories and recipients were as follows: For five years, Brittany Bunch, Madison Rice and Courtney Reese.
For 10 years, Brenda Kelley, Freda Reeves, Doug Swint. For 15 years, Sabrina Covington, Janey Sorrels and Kathy Greene. For 20 years, Connie Bolin, Angie Young and Tasha Caughorn. For 25 years, Charlene Brooks and Patsy Long. For 30 years of service, Sue Collins.
Bowen expressed her gratitude to the company and its employees.
“It is so great to be able to celebrate 50 years of excellence here at Life Care Center of Morristown,” Bowen said.
“When I started here back in 2022 I quickly saw how wonderful the team is and what great care they gave. This team works so great together and they all go above and beyond for our residents every single day,”
“Recognizing our staff members with years of service on Friday made me stand back and think, wow! What a blessing it is to be a part of such a dedicated team,” she said.
“I cannot thank the staff, residents, families and community enough for their support for our facility for the past 50 years. We cannot wait to see what the next 50 years holds for our facility. It truly is an honor to be the Executive Director here and be a part of such a wonderful team,” she continued.
