Charles Samuel Carter, age 76, of White Pine, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023 at his residence.

He was of the Baptist faith and he loved the Lord. Charles was a loving and devoted husband and daddy and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Maude Carter; son, Charles Allen Carter; brothers, Robert “Bobby” Carter, James Carter, Lesley Carter, and Billy Carter; and sister, Martha Carter Dixon.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Virginia Carter; daughters, Vicki Harrell, Rhonda (Duane) Osgood, and Christy (Richard) Evans; grandchildren, Gray Harrell, Emily Harrell, Brent Osgood, and Katie Coffey; great-grandchildren, Carter Harrell, Beckett Harrell, Kylie Trojanowski, Mason Osgood, Aiden Osgood, and Ella Kate Coffey; brothers, Lemuel Carter and Richard (Traci) Carter; and sisters, Alma Gosnell, Barb Carter, and Linda Choate.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, May 25th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Darrell Alder and Rev. Mike Elkins officiating.

Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Friday, May 26th at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services.
