Nettie Jo Guffey, age 96, of Morristown, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023.

She was a member of Manley Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. Guffey; son, Byron Guffey; parents, Jave and Alice Surratt; two brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Alice Margaret (James) Todd, daughter and caregiver, Joan (J.W. Spoon), and Nina Charlene Jackson; grandchildren, Jennifer Cansler of Morristown and Angie Atchley, Chris Jackson, Preston Jackson, Kimberly Guffey, Charlie Guffey, and Brian Guffey, all of Georgia; great-grandchild, Macy Jarnigan and several other great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Jean Chastain of Georgia; and sister-in-law, Faye Surratt of Georgia.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m. Friday, May 12th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ken Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
