Hamblen Sheriff’s Office warns of another school shooting hoax

The Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that another confirmed hoax has been generating across the state regarding potential school violence.
The TikTok hoax that has been shared throughout various counties, including a county in Upper East Tennessee.
Sheriff Chad Mullins has been in contact with the Tennessee Department of Homeland Security and verified that the threat is not real.
“I have spoken with our school superintendent and he will be sending out a notification to parents that this is a hoax,” Mullins said. “As of right now, there has been no mention of any Hamblen County Schools associated with the false threat, but we want our residents to be aware of this in case it does end up circulating throughout this area.”
“If you have children on TikTok please let them know if they see the pictured image that it is not real,” Mullins stressed. “The Sheriff’s Office and the Board of Education consider the safety of our children as a top priority and we will investigate any and all threats against them.”
