City election polls close at 8 p.m.

Election sites for the Morristown municipal election will remain open tonight until 8 p.m., according to Hamblen County election officials.

Registered voters in the city of Morristown may cast a ballot in all races – even Ward specific council races – to select who will serve on the City Council.

There are three contested races on the ballot.

Morritown Mayor Gary Chesney is facing a challenge from Rob Burke.

Incumbent Ward 2 Councilmember Chris Bivens is being challenged by Katy Tindall Klose.

Incumbent at-large Councilmember Ken Smith is being challenged by Joe Senter.

Incumbent Ward 4 Councilmember Al A’Hearn is unchallenged.
