On the Make: Morristown Makers offers several woodworking classes
B
Morristown Makers is a shared space for individuals to engage in crafts and DIY projects. The creative possibilities are endless as they have a variety of tools and a community of like-minded makers who want to help others be successful in their creative endeavors.
Some of their tools are available to take home and use on personal projects, but there are also larger tools available to be used on location such as table saws, band saws and drill presses.
On top of the home improvement tools, they are also equipped with a variety of technology tools that can help complete various projects. These include a 3D printer and vinyl cutter.
The biggest benefit to belonging to Morristown Makers is the education in learning how to use these tools skillfully. Morristown Makers offers classes in 3D printing, design, woodworking and many skills in between. If you’re interested in becoming a member of Morristown Makers they have two levels of membership for you to consider.
A Basic Membership which is $50 monthly, A member gets 24/7 access to the space and is welcome to use the tools that they have completed the training to use. Members can vote on issues that are presented to the general membership of the makerspace. They also get discounts to any classes being offered during their membership.
To become a member you need to attend at least two of their open meetings or class events. This gives us a chance to meet you and you can get any of your questions answered. Then you will fill out a membership application and liability waiver.
A supported membership is someone who is sponsored by a regular member. They need to have their sponsoring member present to access the space.
However, if any member is present and willing to host the supported member, they are welcome to use the space while the full member is present and still willing to host the supported member.
The process for joining is the same as for members: attend two regular meetings or events, fill out a membership application and liability waiver.
The membership application and membership liability waiver can be found on the Morristown Makers website under the Membership tab.
Morristown Makers has a wide variety of classes and workshops for you to choose from.
