Trojan Talk – Break from school Tuesday for election day

We will be out of school this Tuesday, May 2, 2023, due to City Election Day. Students taking AP exams on this day should come to school at their scheduled test times. Congratulations to the following talent show winners: Wilbert Torres(First Place), Joseph Parrot(Second Place), Drew Anderson(Third Place).

AP testing begins this week. Below is the testing schedule for different AP exams throughout the week and EOC testing for Subpart 2 of U.S. History:

May 1st:

May 2nd: Morristown City Election(no school for students who are not taking the exams)

Wednesday, May 3 – all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will vote for next year’s Student Body officers during TNN. Each class will then select its individual Class Officers on May 9. These officers will represent their grade level and student body as a whole. We will be showing campaign videos that are pre-recorded by the candidates and students will vote; a link will be sent to each student’s email to vote.

Students, parking passes are available to be purchased in the front office. Students who have purchased parking passes are unable to find a parking space due to many students parking without a parking pass. Parking pass checks will be conducted every day until the end of the school year. Parking without a parking pass will result in possible ALP or Detention.

Seniors, if you are planning to decorate your cap for graduations, all designs and colors must be accurate and reflect the design that will be on your cap. All designs must be turned in by this Monday, May 1, 2023, to be finalized and approved. Late exceptions will not be accepted. Approved or denied forms will be returned on Thursday, May 4. All Seniors must turn in their Senior Walk permission forms to your TNN teacher by May 15, 2023 in order to participate in the Senior Walk to your previous schools; this will only cover West schools. We will also be having a Senior Signing Day that afternoon to celebrate all Seniors for graduating; food, drinks, games and more will take place! Remember to turn in your permission forms!

This year the Trojan Nation Senior Honors Banquet will take place May 16, 2023 at 6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church Gymnasium for students graduating with any of the following: Honors and Distinction, Honors, Distinction, AP National, AP Distinction, AP Honors, AP Honors, AP Scholar, Who’s Who, Gold Star, Grit, Work Ethic Diploma, TN TriStar, TN Scholar, CNA Certification, National Merit, Perfect ACT Score. Tickets must be purchased by this Monday, May 1, 2023. Tickets are $20 per person; Honorees are complimentary.

If you are interested in trying out for color guard for next school year, please come to camp, beginning on May, 8, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. after school. Beginners are welcome. Please contact Dr. Clawson for more information.

For sports this week, Trojans Baseball will be playing against Cocke County on Monday, May 1. Tennis will have a match at Science Hill for girls only on Monday, May 1, as well. Trojans Boys’ Soccer Team will be playing Jeff County on Thursday, May 4. Track and Field will have a District Conference on Saturday, May 6, in Dandridge, TN. Come out and support the Trojans!

As EOC testing comes to an end this week, AP testing will begin. Reminder to all students testing: rest well and do your best! A score doesn’t define who you are. As always, Go Trojans!
