Dewald pitches West past University High

Charlie Dewald was lights out on the mound for Morristown West Tuesday evening.
Taking on University High, Dewald pitched a complete game shutout as the Trojans won a 2-0 battle.
In his seven innings of work, Dewald allowed just four hits and struck out seven.
At the plate, the Trojans picked up a run in the fourth before scoring an insurance run in the top of the seventh.
In the fourth, Paxton Seal doubled before Bryson Jenkins doubled to score him and make it 1-0.
Then in the seventh, Dewald helped himself as he singled home Gavin Mitchell to make it 2-0.
West will be back in action on Thursday to take on Morristown East at home at 6 p.m.
Softball: Grainger 7, Morristown West 4
Grainger rallied from behind with five runs in the fourth inning to down Morristown West 7-4 Tuesday afternoon.
Jaylee Hayes, Cierstin Phifer and Alison Byrd all drove in two runs for the Lady Grizzlies with Hayes and Copley hitting doubles in the game against the Lady Trojans. Byrd got the win as she struck out eight batters and surrendered two earned runs.
For West, Aviah Bunsic and Jaelyn McDaniel had RBI hits in the third to give the Lady Trojans a 2-0 lead. The Lady Trojans other runs came on a solo homer by Mikaela Olodey in the sixth and a McDaniel RBI single in the seventh.
West will be back in action next Thursday when they host Alcoa for Senior Night.
