Testing season has started
Thank you to all who performed in the Talent Show this past Friday. This was our first in-person Talent Show since the pandemic. Testing season has started; this Wednesday and Friday, the Library will be closed due to testing.
State Dual Credit testing for United States History and Statistics will be Apr. 25. First Block Algebra I, Mrs. Sedlack’s First Block Geometry, and Mrs. Stiner’s Second Block will be testing their math EOCs on Apr. 26. Testing for all other Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II classes will take place on Apr. 27, which will be a virtual day for all students who are not testing.
Seniors, please turn in your Senior Walk permission forms to your TNN teacher as soon as possible. If you are planning to decorate your cap for graduations, all designs and colors must be accurate and reflect the design that will be on your cap. All designs must be turned in by Monday, May 1, 2023, to be finalized and approved. Late exceptions will not be accepted.
As we near the end of the school year and testing approaches, attendance is crucial to the success of each student. Please ensure that students turn in all excuses for absences, so they are not in danger of losing credit for their classes. West High believes that attendance is a crucial part of success in obtaining education and knowledge. For the month of March, West had 157 students with perfect attendance. Each month, West High selects two students with perfect attendance who will receive a $20 gift certificate; Congratulations to Faith Ross and Presley Pennington for perfect attendance.
Next, we have our Student of the Month from each grade level. Congratulations to the following Trojan students: Alex Flores (Freshman), Maggie Purgason (Sophomore), Chloe Seal (Junior), Brianna Knight (Senior). Thank you for your excellent work ethic and outstanding character.
