The Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce was hosted by Morristown Landing Wednesday morning for their monthly Chamber Membership Breakfast.

The full course breakfast was catered in house and was held in one of the Landing’s corporate event rooms which featured an adjoining kitchen. There were numerous breakfast options with multiple hot food bar sections and full table settings.

Morristown Landing General Manager, Steve Eaton, expressed his gratitude for the support of the Chamber and spoke on the challenges of opening.

“It’s been a long road, and we are excited to be open.” Eaten said. “For us, every day is a learning day at the Landing, you always think you know exactly what you’re doing and then the doors open and you think, wow we didn’t think about that or wow we didn’t consider that. But every day for us is a learning day.”

“We’re grateful for all of you that are in the partnerships we have had with many of you getting to this point. We’re just getting started.”

Mayor Chesney then spoke, wearing an arm sling for an injury sustained at a recent Pickleball exhibition match held at the Landing.

“We’ve made something that we thought Morristown residents deserved. We offer a lot of things for all ages, we’re going to have basketball, volleyball and cheer competitions coming, college level high school level swim meets, we’re going to have a lot of things coming in here.

“As far as economic impact, we did a trial run about 4 weeks ago, 54 youth basketball teams, 1,700 visitors,” he added.

Morristown Landing is a 115,00 square feet facility featuring fitness, premium aquatics, recreation, and event space. Amenities include a 10 lane competition pool, family aquatics center, fitness center, 4 hardwood basketball or 6 hardwood volleyball courts, play climb walls, child watch, meeting and event space and a free outdoor splash pad.
