Rev. Bobby D. Helton, age 73 of Morristown, passed away on the morning of Saturday, April 15, 2023 following a lengthy illness.

For more than 44 years, Rev. Helton had pastored several churches in the Morristown and surrounding areas. He was a member of Holt’s Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Helton & Alice Lynn; infant daughter, Linda Renee Helton; and sister, Sheila Arnold.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary “Alice” Helton; daughter, Tammy (James) Caylor; grandchildren, Sarah (Seth) Fleshman, Macy (Tanner) Shannon; great-granddaughter and “Papa’s Princess” Palmer Fleshman; siblings, Shirley (Dan) Sullivan, Steve (Kathy) Helton, and Sharon Lemmonds; as well as several extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 17, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Holt’s Baptist Church off Cherokee Drive. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m., with Rev. Alan Lamb officiating.

Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
