Alpha Baptist Church, 245 St John’s Rd in Morristown, will be hosting an Easter Festival for all ages. The festival will be on Saturday, April 1 at 12 p.m. There will be free food, inflatables, activities and games. The Children’s Pastor is Josh Carter.
Faith Assembly Ministry will hold a Yard Sale on Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. and go on until 1 p.m. Address is 2011 Walnut Street in White Pine. Pastor is Rev. Mike Branner. Proceeds will go toward the building fund. Any donations welcome.
First Corinthians Baptist Church, located in Russellville, will have a Bread Giveaway from noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 1. Everyone welcome.
On Sunday, April 2, at 3 p.m., the First Presbyterian Church Sacred Arts Series will present The Morningstar Flute Ensemble in concert.
The professional Morningstar Flute Ensemble was formed in 2006 for concert tours of Hungary and the USA and recording their CD, “Tranquility.”
In addition to piccolo and familiar C-flute, this entertaining group is noted for using instruments unfamiliar to average listeners, like the alto flute, bass flute and a six-foot-tall contrabass flute. Their eclectic concert style features classical, sacred, Celtic and toe-tapping dance music.
First Presbyterian Church is located at 600 West Main Street in Morristown. The concert is free and open to the public. Pastor is Sam Schaus.
Freedom Chapel Church, located at 1721 Helton Road in Bean Station, will have a Sunrise Service at 7 a.m., Sunday, April 9. The church will also have a morning service at 10 a.m. No evening services. Everyone welcome. Pastor is Rev. Jason Cotter.
Liberty Hill United Methodist Church, 1508 Old Liberty Hill Road in Morristown, will be having local historian and Lay Leader Jim Claborn speaking at the 9:30 a.m. morning worship service on Sunday, April 2. Everyone welcome. Pastor is Dr. Tom Stanton.
The community is invited to attend Holy Week Services at NOON, April 3-7, 2023, at Panther Springs United Methodist Church. Guest Pastors will be preaching each day:
April 3, Rev. Sharon Bowers, UMC Greeneville; April 4, Rev. Jesse Jones, Bethel Missionary Baptist, Cherokee Dr.: April 5, Rev. Dean Haun, First Baptist; April 6, Rev. Ed Cunningham, retired UMC; April 7, Rev. Josh Gibson, Talbott Cumberland Presbyterian. A light lunch will be served following each service. A bagged lunch will be available for folks who need to “grab and go” back to work. The 30 minute services are designed to fit within a lunch hour. Plates, etc. will also be available for those who are able to stay for lunch.
April 7, 2023, 7 pm, our Good Friday Service will be held at our sister church, Bethel UMC, 703 North Cumberland St., in Morristown.
April 9, 2023, 7 am, EASTER Sunday, a Sunrise Service will be held in the Pavilion at Panther Springs UMC. A light breakfast will be served in the Fellowship Hall after the Sunrise Service followed at 9 a.m. by regular Worship Service in the Sanctuary.

Persia Baptist Church, located at 141 Old Highway 66 in Rogersville, will have its first “Glow-in-the-Dark” Helicopter Easter Egg Drop Saturday, April 1 at 7 p.m. There will be 12,000 eggs dropped from a helicopter at the church. A special candy-filled egg hunt for ages 4 and under will be held at 7:30 p.m. with the egg drop following. Each child will receive a large bag of candy. Everyone welcome. Pastor is Kevin Wisecarver.
During the Lent season, the sanctuary of Rogersville First United Methodist Church will be open for prayer on Sunday evening’s beginning at 6 p.m. There is no structured program. The time will start with a brief devotional or word of scripture. Praise music will be playing. Those wanting to sit quietly and listen for God, to sing or pray, they are welcome to do that. This is a time to open our hearts to God and to pray for the church, community and those who need healing in whatever way. Everyone welcome. The church is located at 110 Colonial Road in Rogersville. Rogersville First United Methodist Church, located at 110 Colonial Road in Rogersville has announced its service schedule for Easter Week services. At 11 a.m., Sunday, April 2, A Palm Sunday service will begin at 11 a.m. This services includes a procession with palms, the hand bell choir, and a reading of the Palm and Passion stories.
On Thursday, April 6, there will be a Maundy Thursday service at 6:30 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall This is special time of remembering Jesus’ last meal with his disciples and the giving of the Love Commandment. Attendees will share in Holy Communion.
Friday, April 7, there will be a Good Friday Tenebrae Service at 7 p.m. with the Chancel Choir presenting, “It Is Finished,” a musical Tenebrae Service.
Saturday, April 8, the annual children’s Easter Egg Hunt will be held at the church from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Bring a basket and a friend.
Sunday, April 9, Easter Cantata, 11:00 a.m. The Chancel Choir will present “Two Crowns,” a moving musical presentation of the Easter story. Everyone welcome to all events. Pastor is Elaine Ruth.
Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church, located at 2115 Highway 113 in Whitesburg, will have an Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 1. Everyone welcome.
Valley View Freewill Baptist Church located at 7275 Saint Clair Road in Whitesburg, will be presenting an Easter drama entitled “ARISE – The Story of Jesus” April 6th, 7th, and 8th at 7 p.m. nightly. This event is FREE of charge and is a great idea for youth groups, Sunday School Classes and other area churches to attend.
