NEW TAZEWELL – Trever Johnson had 11 strikeouts to lead the Grainger Grizzlies to an 8-1 win at Claiborne Monday night.

Johnson went the distance as he gave up five hits, three walks and one earned run. Tyler Myatt and Derek Mase combined on the mound for seven strikeouts for the Bulldogs. Braylnn Sell went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the Grizzlies and Brady Smith had a home run and drove in two runs. Dylan Foster led the Claiborne offensive effort with a 3-for-4 day.

The two teams will meet on Tuesday afternoon at The Den for the second game of their series.
