Richard “Rick” Charles Smith, age 56, of Morristown, met his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville.

He was born August 25, 1966 in Morristown.

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” Philippians 1:21.

He was a life-time member of Kidwells Ridge Baptist Church.

Rick was a 1984 graduate of Morristown West and was a truck driver for thirty years having driven over three million safe miles.

He loved his family, friends, and football.

It takes lives to save lives – pledge to be an organ donor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Smith; mother, Lois Southerland Smith; brother, Michael Charles Smith; and grandparents, Charlie and Hazel Smith and Charlie and Bessie Southerland.

Rick is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Denise “Dee Dee” Johnson Smith; sister, Cindy (Jim) West; nephews, Tanner (Kaylee) West and Chase West; and great-niece, Verity West.

There will be no service at this time.
