Sunrise Court #20 Order of the Amaranth recently made a special donation to cancer patients. Donna Winstead, Royal Matron of Sunrise Court #20, has chosen “Random Acts of Kindness” as her theme for 2023. Patricia Smith, a member of the court, created hats for patients going through chemotherapy. The hats were delivered to the Morristown Cancer Center to be distributed to anyone who might need them.

The Order of the Amaranth is a fraternal organization composed of Master Masons and female relatives. In its teaching the members are reminded of their duties to God, to their country, and to their fellow human beings. They are urged to portray, by example, their belief in the “Golden Rule”. Their history goes back about 300 years to the country of Sweden during the reign of Queen Christina. Several societies were started in America in the mid 19th century. Their main charity is the Amaranth Diabetic Foundation.
