Celebration of Tables gearing up for April return

B

Mark your calendars and don’t make any dinner plans for Thursday April 20 because the GFWC Ladies Reading Circle and the Soma Sala Circle will be banding together to host the annual Celebration of Tables fundraiser.

This is the 15th year for this fundraising event. Past events have been instrumental in raising money for many nonprofit and community programs in Hamblen County.

Since 2009, they have raised over $176,000 for programs including ALPS, MATS, the Morristown Hamblen Library, the Daily Bread Community Kitchen and many others.

This year, the Celebration of Tables is focusing on raising money for the Morristown Department of Parks and Recreation.

Funds raised at this years’ event will go towards providing tables and benches for Fulton Hill Park that is located on the old Morristown College campus.

Those who wish to participate in the fundraiser can purchase a table for eight for $200.

They can then decorate and set their table in any theme they would like and invite their eight guests to join them for dinner at their decorated table.

This will be an evening of delicious food and fellowship with a catered dinner and entertainment provided by Bethel Baptist Choir.

The Celebration of Tables will be held Thursday April 20 at First Presbyterian Church in Morristown with table viewing beginning at 4:30 p.m. and event at 6 p.m. Businesses and individuals wishing to purchase an advertisement in the Citizen Tribune tabloid may email Debi Hyder at isdesign1979@gmail.com. The tabloid will be published Sunday’s edition on April 16. Individuals interested in purchasing a table may email Sally Allen at salle4645@yahoo.com.
