Morristown West tennis swept Cherokee on Thursday with 5-4 wins on both the boys and girls side.

In the boys match, Matthews, Eli Shoun and Noah Stapleton won in singles. Winners in doubles were the team of Eli Morrison and Branch Williams and the team of Eli Shoun and Andrew Gal. Shoun and Gal won the deciding point.

On the girls side, Melanie Gal, Peyton Winter, Sammi Barber and Taylor Dewalt all won singles matches. The doubles team of Peyton Winter and Allie Moore won the deciding point.

“We were excited to win the first match of the year, we have a lot of young inexperienced players so we were very excited to win that first match,” West coach Ron Bowlin said.
