East baseball drops contest to Bearden

Morristown East fell behind early on Tuesday evening and never could recover, falling to Bearden 27-3 in five innings.

With the loss, the ‘Canes fall to 0-2 on the season.

Eli Seals, Brice Epps and Jonah Carden led the way at the plate for East with two hits each. Carden drove in two runs while Epps drove in one.

On the mound, Isaac Greene got the start and threw 1.1 innings, allowing 10 runs on seven hits. Ethan O’Dowd replaced him and threw 1.2 innings, allowing five runs, four earned, while striking out two. After 0.2 from Nathan Hardin, Lane Grizzell got the final out.

Morristown East will be back in action on Wednesday, taking on Grace Christian at home. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
