Samuel Doak Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently honored the first responders of Morristown and Hamblen County with cherry pies in remembrance of George Washington’s birthday, Feb. 22.

South Hamblen Volunteer Fire Department was presented their pies on Feb. 16; West Hamblen VFD was honored with cherry pies on Feb. 20; North Hamblen VFD received cherry pies on Feb. 21; and East Hamblen VFD was honored with cherry pies on Feb. 23.

The Morristown Fire Department was honored with cherry pies on Feb. 24. Both the Morristown Emergency and Rescue Squad and the East Hamblen VFD were honored with cherry pies on March 2.

The Samuel Doak Chapter Ladies participating in the presentations were Carol Long, Amy Aarons, Barbara Baker, Joyce Damon, Charlotte McEntire, Kay Senter, Linda Triplett, Kathy Ward-Mouser, and Sheila Walsh.
