Irma Ernestine “Aunt Teen” Gilliam, 92 of Talbott went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and for years volunteered to help cook and serve the church’s Business Man’s Luncheon.

As long as she was able she loved tending her flowers, raising a garden and canning the vegetables she grew. She was a gifted seamstress and avid cat lover.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Gilliam; parents, Roy and Marie Wardrup; brothers, Grover, Zeb, Junior, and Rod Wardrup, and beloved sister, Barbara Young.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews as well as numerous great and great, great nieces and nephews who affectionately called her “Great Teen.” She had many loyal friends who she enjoyed talking with often. Aunt Teen will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

The family would like to thank Dr. Adams, Dr. Crawford, Dr. Miller and all the nurses and staff at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System, but especially those in CCU, for the care and compassion they gave to our aunt and our family.

A memorial service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in a few weeks with the exact date and time to be decided.
