Emory Palmer Blanken
Emory Palmer Blanken, 88, (in 3 days would have been 89) of Bean Station, loving father and grandfather, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
He was saved at the Old Prospect Church at the age of 13 and was a longtime faithful member of Lakeshore Missionary Baptist Church in Bean Station until his health declined.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Carpenter Blanken; parents, George and Bonnie Blanken; brothers, Clifford, Ralph, and Ellis; sister, Jewell Bilbrey, and daughter-in-law, Trisha Blanken.
Palmer is survived by his son, Jimmy Blanken; daughter, Judy (Lonnie) Barnard; granddaughter, Michelle Blankenship (Jonathon Leonard); great-grandsons, Andrew and Will Blankenship; step-grandchildren, Eugene Barnard and Cindy Clark, step-great-grandchildren, Joshua Woods, Ashley Brooks, Brittany Webb, Lauren Barnard, and Abel Leonard; sister, June Calfee of White Pine; special friends, Dolice Hodge and Lowell Wilder, and other family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00pm Friday, March 3, 2023, in the West Chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to the funeral service at 7:00pm with Reverends Grant Vaughn, Larry McAnally and Tracy Clifford officiating. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 4, 2023, in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
