Michael Lynn Vance, age 67 of Talbott, entered the Kingdom of God peacefully at 9:32AM on Sunday, February 26, 2023 following a lengthy illness.

Michael spent decades working for the zinc mine operations of Jefferson County. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, who loved being in the woods. More importantly, Michael loved Jesus, his family, and his animals.

He was preceded in death by his son, Terrell Vance; granddaughter, Ayonna Hickson; mother, Maebelle Vance; brother, Steve Vance; and his mother-in-law, Wilma Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathy Smith Vance; daughter, Bridget Vance Hickson; grandchildren, Collyn Chapman and Samuel Vance-Hickson; father, Jess Vance; brother-in-law, David (Robin) Smith; sister-in-law, Judy Smith; brother-in-law, Jim (Phyllis) Smith; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ray Smith officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Daily Bread ministries or the animal charity of your choice.
