Brantley Earls, son of Travis and Kristin Earls won the 2023 Samuel Doak Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution American History Essay Contest Thursday.

In a meeting held at the First United Methodist Church’s Cornerstone Building in Morristown, Brantley read his essay to the Samuel Doak Chapter and was presented a medal, certificate, and a $50 Samuel Doak Chapter check.

In addition to his parents, also attending were Brantley’s sister Palyn Earls, his grandparents, Walt and Peggy Lefevers, his aunt Cindy Bell, and James Patrick, his principal at Union Heights Elementary School.

Brantley’s essay was submitted to the Appalachian District Tennessee State DAR as the winner of the Samuel Doak Chapter and was the third place winner of that contest.
