Larry Ray Applegate, age 68, of Morristown, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. He was a member of Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Applegate; son, Larry Curtis Applegate; brothers, Curtis Wayne Applegate and Kenneth Owen Applegate; and sister, Beverly Jo Applegate.

Larry was the beloved husband of Carolyn “Denise” Applegate; step-father to Jason (Rachel) McKinney, Derek (Araceli) McKinney, and Christopher McKinney; the dear son of mother and step father, Marjorie (Billy) Fulkerson Nichols; he was the cherished brother of Rebecca (Don) Brown, Karen (Dennis) Becker, Mark (Kim) Webb, and Jackie (Kenneth) Gaddy; he was the proud grandfather of Sarah (Chad) McKinney Wolfe, Caleb McKinney, Kayla (Kyle) McKinney Paisley, Brooklynn Blue, and Millie Alyssa McKinney; and great-grandson, Beau Nicholas Paisley; special nieces, Alisha and Kirsten Applegate; and he was the uncle of a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 p.m. Sunday, February 26th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. Gary Emery officiating.

Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Monday, February 27th at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services.
