The From Africa to Appalachia Foundation (FATA) is hosting a Closing Celebration for this year’s exhibit, “Defy the Color Gray” on Sunday, February 26, at 3 pm at Rose Center.

In addition to providing a final opportunity to view Jason Flack’s exciting exhibit in the Edith Davis Gallery, there will be displays by a variety of local businesses and artists in Prater Hall. Representatives from NAACP, Walters State Community College and the Morristown Task Force on Diversity, as well as several local artists and area Black-owned businesses will have displays in Prater Hall.

A program will be held, including a short video of FATA co-founder Sammie Nicely, presented by his brother James Nicely. Alan Jones, Knoxville artist and close friend of Sammie Nicely, will be the guest speaker. Refreshments will be served. For more information, contact FATA president, Bo Simpson, at 423-231-4188.
