Kenneth Gammon Capps, Jr., age 72, of Mooresburg, TN, passed away on February 3, 2023. He was born on September 16, 1950.

He was a dreamer who often found his way through the outdoors-he loved being surrounded by nature and animals. Kenneth was a gifted craftsman/natural wood artist, well-known in East TN and beyond.

He began his career with his parents’ company, Wood Specialty Products before creating and operating The Duck Farm for 25-plus years, specializing in decoy ducks made of driftwood from Cherokee Lake. He was observant and quiet, yet witty, with a signature broad smile and twinkle in his eye. He was a proud father and a friend to many. He will be deeply missed.

Kenneth Gammon Capps, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Mattie (Gibson) Capps; and sister, Mitzi (Charles) Simmons.

Kenneth is survived by his four daughters, Christy (Jim) Leo, Marie (John) Cunningham, twins Lacey (Anneliese DeDiemar) and Shannon (Jack Lawson); niece, Angela Simmons; and loving friends, Terry and Becke Burchett. He was “Poppy” to grandchildren, Malorie (Heath Harckham) Cunningham and Grace (Brad) Cuthbertson; and great-grandchild, Billie Cuthbertson.

The family will hold a private, intimate celebration of life in the Spring.
